Change of Room and phone

Out of time tonight

Jason has been moved to room 5833,
phone number is now 202 782 9627.
Will write more tomorrow.

Blessings to you all and please pray that Jason's cast will be removed on Monday and that his pain on his right side will be lessened. Pray that Jason's bottom is healed and that he will not need a skin graft. Dr. G didn't make it to evaluate wound today, assume he will sometime on the weekend.

Please pass to Jason that I learned of his wounds through my wife, an Illinois girl whose friend is one of Katy's parishoners. My wife and I are both Veterans, and feel a special kindredness of spirit with Jason and all of America's brave Soldiers, whose sacrifices keep us free and safe.
Jason, you haven proved that you are a fighter. Keep fighting. There are scores of millions of us who understand your sacrifice, who appreciate your service, and who know that, without Soldiers like you, willing to put your young life on the line for Freedom's cause, the world would long ago have fallen to despotism and slavery. Some day - and before you become an old man - the free people of Iraq will be holding celebrations to commemorate that freedom and the Soldiers won it for them - the brave men and women who bought them that freedom with their blood. I will be checking in on you from time-to-time, both through this blog and, hopefully, in person soon. Meanwhile, know that you are always in our prayers.
